First of all the Cardiff farce that was Ganson-gate! I have tried my best to bite my tongue on this (although I’m pretty sure that Rick would disagree having had me labouring my point over the phone to him the other night?!?!?!?!).

My feelings on this are pretty straight forward – the whole game was referee’d in a way that suggests to me that the RFL wanted a close game. The decision at the end seems to have been given in the hope that Sinfield would convert the penalty and end the game in a draw – the “perfect” end to the Millenium Magic Weekend. It back fired big time!
The refereeing this season has been some of the poorest I’ve ever seen (in all games not just Bradford’s) and something needs to change.
Just to prove I’ve taken my Northern blingers off – You can’t blame Leeds for playing to the ref! (That’s possible the last ever nice thing I’ll type about the Rhinos!?!?!)
Also the request by the Bulls to have the points taken off Leeds is a complete joke, if the RFL did do this it would cause anarchy as every team, after every game always feels that the ref has made some errors and if everyone started appealing against results on these grounds the game would really become a farce!
Anyway enough about that……

Newtown’s season finished a while ago, not the best of seasons but they avoided relegation (which is always a good thing) and I hope that things will go better next time round. I hope sometime soon to make a pilgramage back to the place of my birth to show my boys where their dad came from and where they’re Grandad played rugby (and captained the second team!).

And now onto other things……
With July getting ever closer ‘tallica fever is building with every day – so far Yoda hasn’t got me but you never know, so I am currently on Yoda-com 3 (although the flashing alert lights do keep me awake at night!?!?!).

I have just got the new Annihilator album and it rocks! Strongly recommend it to anyone with a love for heavy music, certainly their live performances with Trivium were a very good advert for what is a very good album (that said they’re always been a class act so its good to see them getting some of the Thrash revival kudos!)

Until next time…………..
