Forgetfulness & disappointment

In my previous post I failed to mention the club from my place of birth – Newtown RFC. Click on the link to find out more but I can tell you that they’re not having the best of seasons – come on ‘town!
I have a great attachment for the team as my Dad played for them around the time I was born and captained the B team for a period of time.

Right then that’s the forgotten sorted out now onto the disappointment….

The Bulls lost away to Hull Kingston Rovers in a pre-season friendly this weekend. Whilst I have a lot of respect for Hull K.R. and I reckon they stand a good chance of staying up in their first super league season I really think this is a game we should have won.
I always try to not read too much into the friendly games but having seen the match reports it looks like last seasons habit of making silly mistakes and wayward passes is still present – a worry, to say the least!.

2007 looks like being a cracking year for rugby (of both flavours).

In Rugby Union, Wales are looking good for forthcoming Six nations and this years Rugby World Cup.The WRU website has more information on their upcoming fixtures. I have a really good feeling that this year the team could produce some of the magical form that the 2005 Grand Slam campaign was so memorable for.

In Rugby League the Bradford Bulls are shaping up for what looks like being an intresting season. It will be Steve MacNamara’s first full season in charge and so far his pre season decisions have been, shall we say, interesting.
The Bulls website is a good place to go for a look at how things are shaping up, as well a list of the upcoming fixtures.

Until the season gets going there’s not too much to say but keep an eye out – I tend to get rather passionate about it when it all kicks off!!!!
