Belated post

Now this post should have been done Friday night/ Saturday morning but, well I’m writing it so that should be the only explanation you need.

On Friday night Bradford Bulls played Leeds Rhinos at Odsal and Helen sang once more in the pre-game entertainment. She was fantastic and deserves to be singing in venues with the kind of acoustics that would do her voice justice.

Whilst on the subject of the Bulls, I am disappointed that Shontayne Hape has decided to leave mid-season to go to Bath. He has been a great servant of the club and I wish him all the best, but this season we are not having the best of runs and we need to have experienced players like him in the fold. I hope the move pays off for him and that Bradford can fill the gap in the first team effectively.

On another note completely  – congratulations to Hull City for winning promotion to the football Premiership and commiserations to Leeds United on their loss to Doncaster Rovers in the League One playoffs yesterday. I know that Andy is over the moon and Su is well gutted, all I can say is nevermind – it’s ONLY football!?!?!

What a difference a “(insert applicable time span)” makes

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

Have you ever noticed how, when you’re in a bit of a hole and life is kicking you squarely in the happy sacks, suddenly (and when I say suddenly I mean it could be hours, minutes, days, weeks – it really depends on how ‘big’ the hole was) things turn round and you’re back in the game.

For instance last week I felt so low that I wasn’t sure which way was up and this was threatening to spill from 2 weeks to 3 then yesterday and today happened. For starters, yesterday, I finally started getting back on my feet after being leveled by a virus and decided to make some real changes to how I treat my body (that looks like that of a god = Bhudda!?!?!). I’m going to stop making sacrifices of food’n'beer at the temple and start treating it like I want it to last past 40!?! Then I managed to read a book that 3or4 months ago would have kicked off my OCD in a big way and finished it in record time without it causing me an episode (result!).
And so what happened today to finally complete the change of fortune? I’ve been dealt a kind hand by work in relation to something that could have got a bit sticky (thank [insert deity] for good boss’s) and I’ve been entrusted, on a fortnightly basis, with the keys to a church – you’ve got to love the Methodists at St. Andrews, quite simply the most non-judgemental group of christians I have ever come across, and though I might not be one of them in the strictest of senses being more of a panthiest, I like helping them out. [Note for Yoda = no goats, black candles, petrol cans, matches, lighters, explosives, etc are allowed in there. They may be easy going but not that easy going!?!?!lol].

Basically things are goooood.

I hope that things with you are goooood and they stay that way for a while,
for nothing is ever permanent…..
