I don’t mean to offend but…

Sunday, March 22nd, 2009

First of all I would like to express my deepest condolences to Jade Goody’s friends and family, I am sorry for their loss and hope they are allowed to grieve in what ever way they need to privately and without intrusion from the public.

Secondly I would like to ask the media of this country if they intend to give similar attention to the other people in the country that are currently battling cancer, and to those who find themselves in thesame situation in the future? After all Jade was a woman the same as any other, and as sad as her plight was it was not unique, it is a story that has been told before a thousand times and will be told a thousand more. Will those people be allowed the opportunity to raise funds to provide for thier familys after they have gone by being featured in papers and magazines?

I don’t begrudge Jade and her family a penny of what they have been able to raise and I do appreciate that the coverage has, perhaps, raised awareness.

To everyone who finds themselves in the same situation I wish the strength & courage it takes to fight the battle.

Evolution vs Creation – interesting survey results

Monday, March 9th, 2009

The results from a survey conducted by Theos are very interesting. They show that the British Public hold many contrasting opinions about Darwin’s theory of evolution and Biblical creation.

What made me think more than anything is the comment quoted at the end by Darwin himself, basically saying that he saw no reason why the Scientific and Religious camps could not get on when discussing the two points of view.
Something people could do with remembering these days, I think.
