The Perils Of Democracy
Friday, June 12th, 2009Just a quick post to say how disappointed I am by those people in my region that voted BNP in the recent Euro-elections and successfully placed British facism in the parliment.
The BNP are facists – go to the website, read their policies and then compare it to that of the Nazi’s in pre-war Germany …there are no differences. The only difference is that the BNP have learned to phrase their statements in a way that are no longer obviously offensive or unbroadcastable.
DO NOT BE FOOLED – they’re not standing up for anyone other than themselves and their elitist, racist, bigotted aims.
Them getting in shows the perils of a democracy where there is general apathy amongst the populace, allowing motivated groups from the fringes to take advantage of low turn outs.
I hope with all my heart that my beloved country does not repeat the mistakes the German people made in the 1930’s and I believe that Democracy in this country will survive this blip and continue, stronger for it.
