So having done really well at dodging the varied ailments and bugs that my kids bring back from school or that live in the air con at work, three weeks ago I got a bitch of a virus which has wiped me, knackered my chest muscles and left me stuck inside resting while the rest of the world enjoys (!) the summer weather. To say my lads are not amused is an understatement.lol.

So then this has left me with waaaay too much time to think and I thought I would share with you some of the ponderings that has crossed my mind over that time…….

• how does this man, Kirk Cameron, keep a straight face when spouting this kind of bollocks? Don’t get me wrong, I’m do not believe that evolution and creationism are the only answers to the question of how did life on earth begin (my money’s on the asteroid theory – we’re all aliens..cool) and I don’t believe they are not mutually exclusive but this guy’s nuts.
• If the comet/asteroid theory of how life first reached earth is true, then raises the very real possibility of there being other intelligent life out there in the universe. I this is true then it could also point to the existence of an elder alien race that may have been visiting the earth up to maybe 2000 years ago. This would explain why the Egyptians and Inca’s had the knowledge to build their pyramids the way they did and it would also explain why, through out history, religions tend to have their gods being skyward beings, inhabiting the ‘heavens’ and descending to earth? Quick start looking for the stargate people!
• Why is the cool technology not only expensive to buy but, these days with everything requiring some sort of mobile Internet connection usually provided via a sim, also expensive to then use. I’m am amazed that the manufactures and service providers have not cottoned on to the fact that the ONLY way to maximise their market is to make the latest equipment cheap and affordable. After all every kid in my eldest sons school year would love a G1 or an iphone but they can’t afford the device and/or the contract. Someone somewhere is missing a trick, me thinks.
• Why do we waste so much  money on political correctness when common sense would serve the country far better and far cheaper. We all know how to treat people, the difference between right and wrong (although everyone does need to start appreciating that there is a grey area involved in this, as circumstances can sometimes mean that what is wrong in one situation is right in another) and when we are being offensive to another person. Maybe if we taught out children these things rather to do nothing for fear of upsetting someone somewhere, then maybe the country would be a much more integrated one. It would certainly put paid to the view that ” They get treated better because they are a ………” attidude that the extremists feed off.
• Why aren’t we (the human race) spending more time figuring out how on earth we are going to get the population into space and colonising worlds? The populace of the globe is going to keep on growing until one day the ecosystem tips to far in one direction or the other and the earth become inhabiltable. Why are the great minds of our time not firguring out how to build orbiting habitation constructs and some sort of hibernation system or faster than light drive?!?!?!?!?! (Disclaimer: If they are and I missed the email then sorry. )

Right then that’ll do for now. Happy living people….remember, it beats being dead.
