Fecked off with it
I know for someone who doesn’t post very often, despite the best of intentions, it probably isn’t good form to rant but……
Here I am in a country who’s politicians are being revealed as even bigger hypocrites than previously thought, where the moral decline is fueled by the media’s need for a story and only an old man in need of assistance warrants the attention of only 4 people out a passing number of 100.
Now let me qualify the above.
British politicians have been found to have been abusing their expenses. This is the government that are encouraging prudent spending, decry benefit fraud and who say that there isn’t enough money to support the NHS, Police Force and the Fire Service. Hyprocrites, theives and liars? I think so.
The media in this country consistently change their bias to suit their need. TV news now is more opinion than fact, 24hr rolling news’s need for content means that proper reporting of the facts has given way to piecemeal reporting of hearsay and rumours. It is better in the eyes of the media to cause unrest and unhappiness with misinformation than to wait for fully rounded information before attributing blame.
And finally, when an old man fell in the street (beside a busy road) only 4 of us stopped to help. Now I know that to someone passing it may have looked like the situation was under control once 4 of us were in attendance but not one of them thought of asking IF there was anything they could do. It takes 2 minutes to ask. The 4 of us managed to look after the old man until the ambulance arrived but a few more pairs of hands would have made things a lot easier. The thing I would say to the people who just drove past would be this “how would you feel if that was your father or grandfather who had fallen and no-one had stopped to help him?”.
If everyone waits for someone to do something then no-one ends up doing it.
Rant over.
