What value, experience?Category: Random Ramblings | Leave a Comment |

I have just had an abject lesson on the value of experience.
2 days ago our boiler ceased to work and left us without hot water (big thanks to Cez for the keys that helped us circumvent this problem) and led to two days of frustration for the British Gas newby who has been troubleshooting the problem to try and find the cause.
At the end of yesterday, he said “I’ll be back in the morning and I’ll bring a colleague who’s got a bit more experience than me”, which was fine. So this morning comes around and aforementioned colleague arrives before the newby and less then 10 minutes of arriving diagnoses the cause of the problem with minimal fuss.
Thus here I am sitting around on one of the nicest mornings in the last few weeks, waiting for newby to arrive with the bits to repair a faulty motor.
Just goes to show, if we’d have got the other guy then by the end of Wednesday there is a good chance we’d have had hot water again….the luck of the draw, eh?!?
All I can say is that it’s a good job Su went to work this morning (I have a feeling she might be suffering from Newby rage right about now).
